8th October, 2020

Salaam Alaykum Brothers and Sisters,

Following the Government’s decision to move Auckland to Alert Level 1 and with no restrictions on gatherings, Hussainiya will now be open as per usual for programs. We encourage the community to continue to maintain personal hygiene by sanitizing their hands upon arrival. Furthermore, we would like to remind everyone to stay at home if you are feeling unwell or have flu-like symptoms.

Weekly Programs at Hussainiya
Please note that there will be three programs held at Hussainiya every week:

Every Tuesday –  Dua e Tawassul begins with Maghreb Salaat at 7:50pm led by Sayed Mohammad Almoderrasi every Tuesday

Every Thursday – Dua e Kumail begins with Maghreb Salaat at 7:50pm led by Sayed Mohammad Almoderrasi every alternate Thursday

Every Friday – Jummah Salaat begins at 1:15pm led by Sayed Mohammad Almoderrasi every alternate Friday

Reminder:
Hussainiya is collecting copies of the Holy Quran, Duas, and Supplications, that are not in use or are in fragile condition. We ask you to gather these from your home, place them in a bag, and bring them to Hussainiya. There will be a designated box inside the main entrance of Hussainiya. Please place your bag carefully into the box. These will then be sorted by our volunteers and buried overseas in an appropriate manner.

28th May, 2020

Salaam Alaykum Brothers and Sisters,

Following the Government’s decision to ease restrictions on places of worship, we are happy to announce that Hussainiya will be officially opening it’s doors from tomorrow Friday May 29th, 2020.

However, this being said, there will still be precautionary restrictions in place for the safety of our community. Please read this email carefully as it lists out all the precautions Hussainiya will be taking.

General

  • The most important point is that if you feel unwell or have a cold, please do not come to Hussainiya. We cannot emphasize this enough. Please take this seriously. Any person with flu symptoms will not be allowed for greater benefit of the community. High risk people with pre-existing health conditions may remain at home.
  • Every single person that enters Hussainiya MUST fill out their details in a register by the main door. This will be used in case of contact tracing.
  • Hand sanitizer stations have been installed at the entrance and throughout the Centre. Please sanitize your hands upon entry before filling out your details. Please regularly sanitize your hands and your children’s hands while you are at Hussainiya.
  • Physical distancing needs to practiced by keeping a 1 metre distance between each other.
  • It is recommended that everyone wears mask and gloves.
  • It is recommended to avoid handshakes and hugs.
  • Ensure good hygiene at all times, try to do your Wudhu from home, and wear socks.

Jumah Salaat
Jumah Salaat will resume from tomorrow Friday May 29th at 12:30pm. We have got confirmation from the office of Ayatollah Sayed Sistani that a 1m distance is permissible between people for Jamaat Salaat, which is required for social distancing.

The distances will be marked for your convenience on the carpet with tape. Please follow the markings and ask our volunteers if you need any help.

We appreciate your cooperation and your support. Together InshAllah we can help keep our community safe.

Zainab Sohrabi

21st March, 2020

Salaam Alaykum Brothers and Sisters,

We hope all our community members are doing well during these difficult times that are upon us. As per our previous email, we would like to inform everyone that Hussainiya will now remain closed until further notice.

However, some good news is that we are fortunate to have our respected Sayed Mohammed Al-Modarresi who will be recording lectures for us to watch from our homes and benefit from.

Please view the first online lecture by Sayed Modarresi on the occasion of Shahadat of Imam Musa Al Kazim (a.s.) here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvJvDIcQMUM&feature=youtu.be

In this lecture titled ‘Our Faith in the Time of Coronavirus’, Sayed Modarresi discusses how we should behave during this time as well as how to utilize self-isolation as an opportunity to become closer to Allah swt. He also discusses the lessons to be learnt from the life of Imam Musa Al Kazim (a.s.)

This is a lecture not to be missed. We encourage you all to take some time out tonight and watch this lecture as a family to gain a better understanding of how we can respond to Covid-19 as Muslims of New Zealand.
